Typhoon Dolphin Strikes Japan's Okinawa, Approaches China
Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in Japan's Okinawa prefecture, causing at least six injuries and leaving tens of thousands of buildings without power. In Okinawa, over 12,000 buildings lost electricity, while Kagoshima reported nearly 39,000 buildings without power. Approximately 500 flights were cancelled in Japan due to the storm. China closed ports as the typhoon moved towards its eastern coast, and Hong Kong cancelled at least 12 flights connecting to mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan.
