Tamil Nadu CM convenes meeting on delimitation bill; opposition parties boycott

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay convened a meeting on the delimitation bill, which was boycotted by major opposition parties DMK and AIADMK. Out of 57 MPs from Tamil Nadu, 21 attended the meeting and expressed opposition to any potential reduction in the state's Lok Sabha seats. The Kerala Chief Minister also voiced concerns that southern states would suffer from the bill. Separately, the Shiromani Akali Dal pledged support for the delimitation bill and the women's reservation bill after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
