Bride Flees After Wedding with Jewelry, Police Investigate
In separate incidents, brides have allegedly fled shortly after their weddings, taking jewelry and demanding more money. In Gopalganj, a bride reportedly disappeared from the Thawe temple after the ceremony, with allegations of her fleeing with ornaments. Police have initiated an investigation. In Ambikapur, a bride from Surguja allegedly absconded from Madhya Pradesh three days after her wedding. She reportedly told her husband she was going to the toilet, and when he went to retrieve her, she demanded an additional ₹50,000 to return.
