Indian Railways Approves New Passenger Services and Train Mergers
Indian Railways has approved the introduction of a daily passenger train service between Itarsi and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, two express trains, the Pratapgarh-Kanpur and Chitrakutdham Karwi-Kanpur Express, have been merged, with the combined service doubling its coach capacity to 24 coaches. The railway board also approved plans for 112 special train trips between August 14 and September 6 to accommodate the Onam festival rush. Western Railway will also run two special trains between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu for the festive season.
