Jharkhand students protest exam irregularities; talks fail
Students in Jharkhand are protesting alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC (Jharkhand Public Service Commission) and JSSC (Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission) recruitment exams. Talks between the government and a delegation of aspirants concluded without a breakthrough. The CID has summoned three serving members of the JPSC to investigate the selection of TSR Data Processing Private Limited, an agency previously blacklisted, to conduct the examination. Actor Piyush Mishra has publicly supported the students' protest. The Guardian reports that the protests are linked to student suicides, with families blaming education system mismanagement and leaked exam papers.
