Medical Education Policy Shift: PG Diplomas Replaced by MD/MS Degrees

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to phase out postgraduate diploma medical courses starting in 2027. Medical colleges offering these diploma programs are directed to apply for conversion to MD/MS broad-specialty degree seats. This decision is part of a long-standing policy shift in medical education that has been developing for approximately two decades.
