Farmer Loses Savings Buried in Field to Termites

A farmer in Balotra, Rajasthan, buried ₹5 lakh earned from selling a plot of land in his field to protect it from theft and extravagance. He forgot the exact location where he buried the money. After nearly a year, when he recovered the cash, most of the ₹500 notes were severely damaged by termites. The farmer's forgetfulness and alleged addiction contributed to the loss.
