Delhi Rainfall Exceeds August Average; Other Cities Report Flooding
Delhi has surpassed its average August rainfall within the first eight days of the month, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Light to very light rain is forecast for the capital over the next two days. Meanwhile, other parts of India experienced significant rainfall, with one report detailing blinding rain flooding northern areas and crippling traffic, and another mentioning road damage and collapsed houses in Shimla due to heavy rain. Mumbai's Santacruz station has also crossed 2,000 mm of seasonal rainfall, with the IMD retaining a yellow alert.
