FSSAI Bans Plastic Packaging for Pan Masala
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has banned the use of plastic and aluminium foil packaging for pan masala. New regulations mandate the use of materials such as paper, paperboard, tin, glass, or other naturally derived options. This ban, effective under new packaging regulations, aims to phase out tiny plastic sachets. The FSSAI clarified that pan masala itself is not banned, only its plastic packaging.
