Tamil Nadu Assembly Passes Resolutions on State Song and Lok Sabha Seat Cap
The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed two resolutions. One resolution reaffirmed that the state song, 'Tamil Thai Vazhthu', must be sung first at all state events. The second resolution urged the central government to freeze the number of Lok Sabha seats at the current 543, opposing any delimitation that would alter this number. The assembly also called for the implementation of 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies, with one report suggesting this should be from 2029.
