Heavy Rains Cause Flooding, Landslides, and Road Closures in Himachal Pradesh
Incessant rainfall has caused significant disruption in Himachal Pradesh, leading to landslides and flooding. As of the latest reports, 204 roads are blocked, and damage to public property is estimated to exceed ₹910 crore. At least 70 deaths have been reported in connection with the monsoon fury over 43 days, with some reports indicating up to 157 fatalities. Power supply and water schemes have also been affected, with 112 transformers and 55 drinking water projects impacted. The India Meteorological Department has issued orange alerts for five districts.
