Parliamentary panel flags vacancies in CBSE and NCERT
A parliamentary committee has raised concerns over significant vacancies within the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The committee reported that 44% of posts are vacant in the CBSE examination department and over half of the posts are vacant in NCERT. The panel expressed fears of potential irregularities due to these staff shortages and questioned the reliance on contract workers. Additionally, the committee noted that new textbooks have not been released despite syllabus changes under the new education policy, causing stress for students.
