India Braces for Widespread Rainfall Across Multiple States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alerts for numerous states across India. Odisha is under a 'red warning' for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand are forecast to experience heavy to very heavy rain for the next three days. Delhi and northwest India can expect widespread rain from August 14. Madhya Pradesh's eastern districts and Balaghat face a heavy rain alert from Friday. Tamil Nadu anticipates widespread showers and thunderstorms until August 17. Himachal Pradesh has reported 200 roads blocked due to rain, with a yellow alert in four districts. Mumbai has a yellow alert for heavy rain, while Kerala and Rajasthan also have yellow alerts.
