High Court Halts Punjab Recruitment Processes Amid Allegations
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the recruitment process for 454 pharmacist positions and the Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission (PSRLM) for 85 posts. The court issued the stay on the pharmacist recruitment following allegations of a cheating racket and prima facie anomalies in the award of marks for the PSRLM selection. The government has been asked to respond to the court's queries. The High Court's decision on the pharmacist recruitment came after a petition was heard, and the stay on the PSRLM recruitment was issued until September 2. This marks the second significant setback for the Punjab government from the High Court in a short period.
