Army Chief Visits Nepal Amidst Defence Modernisation Focus
Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth is visiting Nepal to strengthen military ties and will be conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army. This visit occurs as India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the government's priority on military modernization, driven by a self-reliant and future-ready defense sector. Singh also noted significant increases in India's defense exports, reaching Rs 38,424 crore in 2025-26, and the approval of defense projects worth over ₹8.75 trillion in the past year. Additionally, a Rs 1,577 crore deal for loiter munition systems for the Army was signed.
