India Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain across multiple states
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain alerts for several districts in various Indian states. The IMD predicts heavy rainfall in 5 districts and Yanam today. Alerts have also been issued for parts of Rajasthan, with some districts receiving up to 2 inches of rain. Madhya Pradesh faces alerts for 39 districts, with a strong rain system reactivating. Uttar Pradesh is expecting heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts on August 17, with the possibility of continued rain on August 18. Additionally, alerts for heavy rain and winds up to 85 km/h have been issued for 19 states within 20 hours.
