Odisha braces for heavy rain and floods; evacuations underway
Odisha is experiencing heavy rainfall, leading to floods in northern districts. Over 2.37 lakh people have been evacuated. Rivers Baitarani and Brahmani are swelling, inundating several areas. Schools have been closed in Jajpur district, and a high alert has been issued for north Odisha. The Chief Minister is planning a visit to the flood-affected areas. Separately, Vinaytosh Mishra has taken additional charge as Odisha DGP.
