Law Students Protest BCI Chief, Demand Apology Over NALSAR Incident
Students, alumni, and current students of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru, along with NALSAR students, have demanded an unconditional apology from the Bar Council of India (BCI) Chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra. The protest stems from an incident involving NALSAR students and Mishra, where he allegedly barred NALSAR students from becoming lawyers. Some reports indicate that NLSIU students and alumni also opposed the visit of CJI Surya Kant and BCI Chief to their convocation. The BCI Chairman has reportedly apologized to law students. Separately, Jharkhand CID is investigating alleged irregularities in an examination and raided the JSSC office.
