Jharkhand Students Protest Exam Irregularities, Burn Effigies, Seek Talks
Students in Jharkhand have been protesting exam irregularities by the JPSC-JSSC for 23 days. Protesters burned effigies of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi across 24 districts. Students have issued an ultimatum to cancel the exams by August 18 and plan to surround the Chief Minister's residence on August 20. The Jharkhand government has invited protesters for talks, with a meeting scheduled for August 17 at the State Guest House. Bollywood actress Kunika Sadanand visited the protesting students and expressed support.
