Morocco Arrests Hundreds of Migrants Near Ceuta Border

Moroccan security forces arrested 294 migrants and 61 alleged facilitators attempting to cross into Spain's Ceuta enclave. The operation occurred near Castillejos. This follows a previous mass crossing attempt weeks prior, which resulted in 141 deaths. Some migrants in Ceuta were protesting and demanding asylum, while others were reportedly demonstrating against deportation to Morocco. Social media posts had circulated claims of Spain opening its border on a national holiday.
