Supreme Court Orders Karnataka to Release Cauvery Water to Tamil Nadu
The Supreme Court has directed Karnataka to comply with the Cauvery Water Management Authority's (CWMA) orders to release water to Tamil Nadu. The court is hearing a plea from Tamil Nadu seeking immediate water release. Karnataka Minister Chaluvarayaswamy denied releasing water from the KRS dam. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also noted that Tamil Nadu might have received excess water from the Cauvery river.
