Ukraine and Russia Exchange Strikes, Targeting Industrial Sites and Cities
Over the past week, Ukraine reported being hit by over 1,550 attack drones, 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 62 missiles. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy renewed appeals for air defence systems. In response, Ukraine launched drone attacks and missile strikes targeting Russian territory, including an ArcelorMittal plant in Kryvyi Rih, which killed two people. Russia retaliated with missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, including Odesa, and an industrial site in Kryvyi Rih. Russian officials reported that Ukrainian drone barrages targeted the Moscow region, with one report stating 600 drones were intercepted and three people wounded, while another claimed six people were killed in Russia. Ukraine also reportedly struck a Samara industrial site in Russia.
