Tamil Nadu releases power sector white paper, rules out tariff hike
Tamil Nadu's Electricity Minister R. Nirmalkumar released a White Paper detailing the state's electricity department's financial status, stating the debt has reached ₹2.47 lakh crore. The paper suggests a previous tariff revision in 2022 did not benefit the department or consumers. The government has also announced that there will be no tariff hike for the current year.
