Government to form high-level banking reform committee
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the government will soon form a high-powered committee to work on banking sector reforms. This committee is intended to contribute to the "Viksit Bharat 2047" goal. The committee's formation is expected this month, and its mandate may include developing a roadmap for consolidation within the banking sector. Sitharaman stated that the banking sector is currently in its strongest position to undertake reforms.
