Supreme Court Told of Criminal Cases Against Hundreds of MPs and CMs
The Supreme Court was informed that 326 Members of Parliament (MPs) and 14 Chief Ministers (CMs) currently face criminal cases. An amicus curiae presented a report detailing 4,192 pending cases against MPs and MLAs across the country, with some cases dating back over a decade. The report also indicated that 14 out of 28 CMs face serious criminal charges. The Supreme Court is hearing a plea for the expedited resolution of these cases.
