Row Erupts Over PM Modi's 'Dimaagi Naxal' Remark
A controversy has emerged following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's use of the term 'dimaagi naxal' (intellectual naxal). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that if patriotism makes one a 'dimaagi naxal', he is proud to be one. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju clarified that the remark was not directed at any specific individual or party but was a warning against extremism. An Instagram page named 'Dimagi Naxal Party' gained over 1.6 lakh followers overnight before being suspended. BJP MP Brij Lal described 'dimaagi naxals' as those hiding as professors, poets, and NGO operators.
