Congress Alleges Conspiracy Over OBC Omission in Caste Census
The Congress party has accused the Modi government of a "deep conspiracy" after the omission of a separate category for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the caste census gazette. The party alleges that OBCs were deliberately left out, with leaders like Jairam Ramesh claiming the government intends to sabotage the caste census. The National OBC Federation has also objected to the absence of a separate category, warning of action. The Congress has previously criticized the government's stance on caste census, with one report stating the Prime Minister has "buried the idea of a caste census."
