India's Current Account Deficit May Widen in FY27, Rupee Support Expected
India's Current Account Deficit (CAD) is projected to widen in the fiscal year 2027, according to a report. This widening is attributed to a sharp increase in the goods deficit, which rose to $85.7 billion in the first quarter of FY27 from $68.9 billion in the same period last year. Despite this, the report anticipates that capital flows will provide support to the Indian Rupee in the second half of FY27. The analysis was conducted by a private lender.
