Jharkhand Cancels JSSC-CGL Exam Amid Student Protests, Candidates Fear Job Loss
The Jharkhand government cancelled the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) recruitment examination following a 24-day protest by students. The cancellation has led to approximately 2,000 successful candidates fearing job loss. Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who was on a hunger strike, ended it after 16 days following the government's decision. The government also ordered a CID probe into recruitment irregularities since 2014. Protesting students, however, have not called off their demonstration, demanding an independent CBI investigation and an opportunity to defend themselves.
