Vizhinjam Port Commences Full-Scale Export-Import Operations
Vizhinjam Port has begun full-scale export-import (EXIM) operations. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagged off the first export container on Tuesday, marking the commencement of these operations. The port's transition to EXIM operations aims to provide exporters and importers in Kerala a direct route to international markets, facilitating trade in sectors such as seafood, spices, and engineering goods. The port features advanced technology, including AI-powered automated systems, enabling goods to be exported to ports across six continents.
