Monsoon Rains Expected to Intensify Across North India
Several states in North India, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, have issued yellow alerts for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. In Haryana, three districts are under alert, with monsoon activity expected to pick up pace from August 21. Hisar recorded a high of 37.5°C. Uttar Pradesh anticipates rain in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and other districts until August 23. Meanwhile, Prayagraj experienced waterlogging, with rain forcing water into homes and causing belongings to float.
