Delhi High Court Halts JNU Admissions Over Deprivation Points
The Delhi High Court has placed a hold on Jawaharlal Nehru University's (JNU) postgraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, specifically concerning the use of deprivation points. The court questioned the university's ability to award these points, which are added to Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores after the exam. JNU's policy allows for up to 12 deprivation points, equivalent to 36 marks, to be awarded to eligible candidates.
