NHRC orders inquiry into allegation against Punjab CM's wife
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has ordered an inquiry into allegations that Gurpreet Kaur, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, was offered Rs 5 crore to suppress a rape case. The inquiry was ordered after a retired High Court judge made the claim. Kaur has reportedly sent a legal notice to the retired judge regarding the allegation. Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has called the allegations 'serious'.
