Government Asserts Quality of Onion Buffer Stock Amid Price Concerns
The Indian government has stated that the quality of its buffer stock of onions is good. Consumer Affairs Secretary Consumer Affairs Secretary Khare made this assertion, aiming to reassure the public as onion prices have reportedly risen in some areas. To manage these price fluctuations, the Centre has also launched 'Kanda Express'. In Delhi, onion prices have seen an increase of 88%.
