Nepal Floods Cause Widespread Devastation, Death Toll Rises
A flash flood in Nepal has resulted in at least 538 deaths, with 320 Indians reported missing. The disaster was triggered by a lake breach in Tibet, leading to ice and rock slides that caused the flood. Nepalese officials have warned of a 5-times higher risk of future floods due to similar events. The Trishuli river has been significantly impacted, with a bridge destroyed. Rescue operations have saved 85 Indians, while 400 others are reported safe on the Chinese side of the border.
