Supreme Court Allows CJP Protest March, Seeks Police Response on FIRs
The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to halt the September 5 protest march organized by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) in Delhi. The court stated it could not presume that anything untoward would happen and left law and order responsibilities to the authorities. Separately, the court also sought a response from the Delhi Police regarding a bail plea filed by an accused in the Delhi riots case under the UAPA. Additionally, the court will hear a Delhi Police plea concerning 13 FIRs linked to NEET protests.
