Supreme Court Judge Ujjal Bhuyan Defends Dissent and Questioning
Supreme Court Justice Ujjal Bhuyan stated that questioning is a fundamental aspect of citizenship and liberty in democracies, and governments should be open to hearing citizens' concerns. He emphasized that dissent should not be equated with defiance or seen as a threat. Speaking at an event, Justice Bhuyan also highlighted the importance of universities fostering free thought and encouraging students to ask challenging questions without fear of punishment.
