PhonePe enables UPI payments on feature phones without internet
Digital payments company PhonePe has launched a UPI payment service for feature phones that do not require an internet connection or a smartphone. This new service allows users to make UPI transactions by dialing a USSD number. PhonePe claims this initiative will benefit approximately 200 million Indians, potentially boosting financial inclusion.
