US Warns Countries Against Aiding Iran Amid Sanctions
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that no country should help Iran evade sanctions. His remarks followed a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek. Rubio stated in an interview that he does not believe there is a trade deal between India and Iran. The US is stepping up economic pressure on Iran, with new bank sanctions reportedly expected this week. Reports had suggested New Delhi and Tehran were moving towards a trade agreement.
