Bengal to Consider Uniform Civil Code for Marriage Laws
West Bengal is set to discuss the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) concerning marriage laws. The first meeting on this initiative is scheduled to take place in Delhi. The proposed UCC aims to replace 13 existing marriage acts with a single, unified law. This move is being spearheaded by Suvendu Adhikari, who stated that the new law would govern marriages in Bengal.
