Two Fatal Shootings in Sydney Prompt Police Response
Two people have been killed in separate shootings in Sydney over two days, with authorities investigating the possibility of mistaken identity in both incidents. The New South Wales Police Minister stated that gang violence is not "out of control" in the state, asserting that "we will not be surrendering our streets." CCTV footage has captured images related to the second shooting. Since the start of the previous year, as many as six suspected mistaken identity shootings have occurred.
