Madras High Court dismisses MK Stalin's election plea
The Madras High Court has dismissed a writ petition filed by DMK president M.K. Stalin challenging the election results for the Kolathur constituency. Stalin, who was the defeated DMK candidate, alleged that votes intended for him were not recorded correctly in 14 polling booths and sought 100% counting of VVPAT slips. The court, comprising Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan, deemed the petition "not maintainable." Stalin had previously won the Kolathur seat in three consecutive elections since 2011. In the recent election, he was defeated by V.S. Babu of the TVK party by 8,795 votes.
