Food safety raids lead to license suspensions and seizures across India
Food safety authorities have conducted raids across multiple Indian states, leading to the seizure of spoiled food items and the suspension of licenses for several establishments. In West Bengal, licenses for eateries and confectionaries in North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Bardhaman, Kolkata, and Birbhum were cancelled as part of Consumer Protection Week. Separately, Hyderabad's Hotel Shadab had its FSSAI license suspended due to hygiene violations, including the presence of spoiled food and pests. The raids are part of ongoing efforts to ensure food safety standards.
