Allahabad High Court Quashes NSA Detention of DU Student Over Noida Protest
The Allahabad High Court has overturned the National Security Act (NSA) detention of Aakriti Chaudhary, a Delhi University graduate, in connection with a workers' protest in Noida. The court cited procedural mistakes and insufficient evidence in the NSA order, calling the story "concocted." While the NSA detention was quashed, Chaudhary remained in custody due to separate criminal cases stemming from the April violence until she secured bail. The court also mandated a compensation of five lakh rupees for the labor activist.
