Pacific Cyclones Linked to Historic El Nino
A rare series of Pacific cyclones, including Hurricanes Lowell and Karina, are moving across the ocean. These storms are being fueled by a historically strong El Nino event, which is expected to continue through February. The National Hurricane Center has stated that both Hurricane Lowell and Hurricane Karina are Category 4 storms and are anticipated to pass Hawaii at a distance. This El Nino has already been associated with extreme weather patterns globally.
