Flash floods in Nepal, triggered by a glacier collapse, have resulted in over 1,250 deaths and left more than 4,800 people missing. The disaster, described by some as a "Himalayan tsunami," has devastated communities, with families struggling to locate missing relatives and performing symbolic cremations due to the inability to recover bodies. A report indicated that a flood alert was issued only 38 minutes after the glacier collapse, highlighting gaps in early warning systems. In response to the crisis, India has dispatched 21.5 tonnes of relief supplies to Nepal.
