NTA Plans Computer-Based NEET UG from 2027, Seeks College Infrastructure
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is planning to transition the NEET UG examination to a computer-based test (CBT) format starting in 2027. To facilitate this shift, the NTA has requested assistance from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to identify government colleges with suitable IT infrastructure and vacant space for establishing standard testing centers. This move follows recent examination reforms and concerns over paper leaks. Separately, the Supreme Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a re-examination for all NEET PG 2026 candidates, though admit cards for a re-exam for 2445 specific candidates were issued. The NTA has also issued a grievance advisory for candidates of NEET, JEE, CUET, and UGC NET, offering tips for faster resolution of issues.
