Bengal CM Adhikari Proposes 1,000 RSS-Affiliated Schools, Warns Aid Cuts
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a plan to establish at least 1,000 schools affiliated with the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) within a year. Adhikari also warned government-aided schools that they risk losing grants if they do not comply with guidelines regarding the complete rendition of the national song, 'Vande Mataram'. Vidya Bharati, an RSS-run organization, currently operates over 12,000 schools and 10,000 Bal Sanskar Kendras nationwide, with 313 such schools in West Bengal.
