Centre Assures Delhi High Court Against Coercive Action on Gymkhana Club
The Centre has assured the Delhi High Court that it will not take any coercive action against the Delhi Gymkhana Club until the next hearing on September 16. This assurance comes amid a row over the eviction of the club from its premises. The Centre had previously argued that the High Court lacked the legal authority to prevent the government from taking possession of the land after the termination of its perpetual lease and the issuance of an eviction notice.
