New Zealand Approves MDMA Therapy for Severe PTSD
New Zealand has approved the use of MDma (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) for treating severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and end-of-life distress. This decision allows two psychiatrists to prescribe MDma in controlled clinical settings. Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour stated that PTSD ruins lives and is difficult to treat. New Zealand is the second country, after Australia, to permit such therapeutic use, which is built on trial results that have faced challenges in the United States.
